Bhadrakali Temple - Kurukshetra

This temple dedicated to Bhadrakali is considered to be one of the fifty one Shakti pithas of India. As per Hindu Mythology, the right ankle of Sati fell here in the well; at present, a marble ankle has been shown here. According to the local legend, Pandavas along with lord Krishna worshipped Maa Durga to get a boon of victory in Mahabharata battle. After being conquered, they again came to worship the goddess and offer their best horses in her service. Since the day, the devotees offer terracotta and metal horses to the deity after having fulfilled their wishes.
